Asus Terminator - noisy!

After reading many reviews on a competitors site saying the Asus T2-AE1 was really quiet, I bought one and found it actually sounds like some kind of turbo hairdryer!

I was wondering if anyone has one of these and has managed to silence it at all? Most of the noise seems to be coming from the PSU fan. How easy (or dangerous) is it to swap the fan for a quieter one? At this rate I'm considering replacing the whole PSU with an normal ATX one hung off the back.

I have built systems using this and many other asus terminator barebones kits. They are all noisy for about 5 seconds when you turn them on, then the Q fan function comes alive and shuts the fans down to the level required.

Is the Q fan function disabled in the BIOS?
