Hey all,

I bought the above mentioned monitor a few months back on Amazon and it has already died. I can see that it turns on (can see the display change to a backlight), but it doesn't display anything, won't even display the onboard menus when I press the buttons, and it doesn't display a "no input" message
I contacted the Amazon seller who ghosted me, Amazon aren't helping me either (typical contact the seller stuff but when the seller doesn't reply they won't step in).
Contacted Asus directly for RMA as last resort, and they are telling me it's an American import under American Local Warranty so they won't do anything with it here in the UK :(

So wondering if anyone has any ideas on what the fault could be, and whether it's worth repairing.
I've never worked on a monitor before so while I'm not against opening it up, I want to make sure it's actually worth opening up.

sorry about the quality, was originally done over emails and in a rush but it does get the point across.

Propably control logic fault.
Power supply and backlight clearly work.

Likely harder/more expensive to fix (even if parts available) unless it's just some loose cable.

Might be also worth of looking for some consumer protection agency, if they can get that "online platform" to put pressure on seller.
(naming OcUK's competitors isn't allowed in forum rules)

I wouldn't entertain the thought of getting it repaired myself at the moment, carry on putting pressure on the place you bought it, also did you pay by credit card? If so, section 75 should surely apply here

Thanks for replies,

I have chased seller and Asus for a few weeks now over this and gotten nowhere.
I also went for Section 75 but that has been rejected due to the fact that it's handled by an external payment system or something, googling it revealed that it's a now known loophole in the Section 75 rules (stupid rules imo)

Feels like the stars aligned just right to ruin me

In which case i'd carry on pushing the river based marketplace who I assume are the "external payment provider"?

Is the seller UK based? In which case you could consider threatening small claims as well
