ASUS U3S6 Card Compatibility

I realise ASUS claim that this only works on select motherboards.... but has anyone had any luck using it with a Gigabyte EX-UD5?

Are there any alternatives to this product?

There are alternatives for both SATA6 and USB3 just not on the same card from what ive seen
