Asus UL30A bizarre network driver issue

Every time I reboot my ASUS UL30A, I get a message saying:

Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) #5 installed.

The number at the end goes up each time (I've seen it as high as #13).

Any ideas how to fix this permanently*? It's getting annoying. :(

* I've deleted all the network drivers, several times, which at least resets the count.

Could it be BIOS related? I've only had this on the most recent install, which also happens to be after a BIOS flash that I thought might fix WGA (it didn't, but a telephone call to MS did).
