Hello,
I resisted for many years, but felt the time had come to invest in a new monitor.
Received my vg236h from OC today and am more than happy with it, but and it's a big BUT, i'm having problems sitting at it for any length of time due to the amount of light emitting from the screen.
I feel like a need to put on a pair of sunglasses just to look at it and ended up with a pounding headache after half an hour of viewing this afternoon.
I've set the contrast to 38 and brightness to 32 but my eyes still need time to adjust when i look away from it.
Does anyone else own one of these and if so could you gimme any hints on settings etc without turning contrast/brightness down to a level that it doesn't ruin the picture totally?(and is there anyway of dimming the backlight?)

Try changing colour temperature. I've currently got 'Splendid' set to Standard Mode, Brightness to 75, Contrast at 80, Trace Free at 60 and Colour Temp set to Warm. Much easier on the eyes than out of the box.
