Hi folks,

I bought my Asus VG236H in December last year (not from OC, but the un-named company are useless so I'm posting it here :D) and about 6 weeks ago I had a serious problem with a blue line running down the screen. I spent 5 weeks chasing to get a replacement, and Asus told me I'd get a refurbished unit, even though the monitor was only four months old.

By this time I was so fed up with being fobbed off I'd see what they sent me. I've had this monitor since Monday but only really got chance to look over it today (Thursday) and I'm not exactly happy with the condition. The one I sent them was aesthetically perfect. The one I got back wasn't. The screen was scratch free, so props for that, but the frame of the monitor was covered in scratches, there are a couple of hairline cracks on the edges and there are marks from the packaging they used, but try as I might these won't come off.

To be blunt, I'm thoroughly ****ed off at this. I was just wondering where I might stand in this situation, and what my rights are. I paid almost £400 for this bundle, and feel absolutely cheated!

You will have more chance of geting a brand new one of you contact the retailer you brough it from and get them to contact asus for you. I got a new replacement for a dead pixel and a scatch on the frame after the retrailer said they will contact asus for me to try get a new one which came direct from the asus warehouse and they did a swap over.

Well i dunno if you will get a new one know that u actually have a fault free replacment.
Baisclly if mine was to get a fault then my retrailer said they be happy to contact asus for me to arange a new replacement where they deliver a new one and take the old one.

Then again if its been less then 30 days sence replacment then you should be able to get another replacment. Try emailing your retailer. If they willing to help they will ask for the monitor serial number then contact asus
