Does anybody know if this monitor still has the light bleed problem,
i heard somewhere (cant remember where) that asus had sorted this problem but was just wondering if anyone had heard this or can even confirm that the problem is dealt with,

cheers

i got it and balck light bleed is batter than my acer g245h its very good monitor i mean its the best i could see in tn panel in my expriance but what bother me is color banding with game, night , scentery mode .....etc however i get minimum banding with standard mode but colors isn't so great in that mode i don't know if these a bad unite or all sus vg278h like that and i should return it !!!

OP, that problem only affected batches produced for North America and Canada. No European models suffered from the extreme back light bleeding.

I've had mine since November and its been nothing but great.

I can't say that i've ever noticed colour banding on the monitor either tuka.

cool cheers guys, now just to decide to either get this monitor or do i wait for the 144hx vg278h(E) ... just when you think youve made a decision they go throw a spanner in the works,

anyone got an opinion on that 144HZ... worth it or should i just get the 120Hz version

cheers

change from standard to theater to game to other modes ..... ets

good panel should preform smooth transition between colors without lines or dithering

becuse in mine i see that and the best resulte i get is with standard mode which prefrom smooth transition without lines

thanks for replaying i appreciate it and hope to hear from you so i can know what to do

You wont get that with any TN panel.

i get smooth transition between colors with any mode with my acer G245h 24 inch TN panel

and i get it also with asus vg278h but only in standard mode and if i changed to theater it would be lines which mean color banding issue which cause to see some wallpapers like windows 7 deflute them and others in odd shapes if u changed other than standard mode thats why i want to know because if he didn't have that issue with theater or game ........ etc modes , then i got bad unite if he got it then its a general issue with these model

Sorry man, don't come in this subforum often.

In standard mode I see very minor banding, hardly noticeable.

But as you say, in the other modes its definitely a lot more pronounced.
