Anyone running this setup?

I got myself a Dell U2713HM, and I'm finding the picture isn't that great when running the PS3 though it - lots of tearing, and blurred textures close up, I imagine because it's a 1080p image being stretched across a 2560x1440 frame.

I'm wondering if the Asus would improve things, but was wondering if anyone could offer some advice before I go to the trouble of returning this otherwise lovely monitor?

Most consoles use 720p rather than 1080p for games at the moment, so the monitor will not be running at its native resolution. It’s probably just the effect of upscaling you’re seeing. Obviously 720p (HD Ready) TVs will just run at this resolution anyway, but Full HD HDTVs are a bit better than monitors at masking the effects of upscaling. There is lots of filtering and processing that they do – but it makes for a much more ‘laggy’ experience and throws colours off as well. However you should be OK with xboxone/PS4 with 1080p monitor.

Credit goes to Adam (pcmonitors) for above information.
