Doesn't seem like the differences between the mentioned monitors is big. The HP has a bit wider and more volume color gamut both SDR and HDR (is the HDR one only for HDR gaming which it still doesn't do well?) while the Asus has better contrast (1200:1 ish compared to 1000:1 ish for the HP). The Asus was reviewed in 2020 while the HP just some months ago. So when looking at reviews I'm thinking that is the HP better than its score and for the Asus the other way round?
Also what I wonder about is does Asus VG27AQ have LFC? It doesn't seem to have freesync premium but this review mentions LFC:
