So I've got a new Asus Vivobook s200e, it's a really nice machine and very well put together for the price.
However, my biggest bugbear with it so far is the absolutely woeful factory settings of the touchpad and configuring it to work properly.
So, out of the box, even though it's a multi-touch gesture supporting touchpad, not one of the Windows 8 gestures was working. Apparently I'm not alone, I've followed advice on U.S. Customer Reviews and got rid of the existing drivers and replaced them with those of Elan Tech, which are a HUGE improvement, and most gestures now work.
However (no.2) the touchpad is an 'Apple' style pad - the whole thing is able to be clicked from anywhere on the touchpad, BUT the touchpad only responds when clicked in the bottom right or left corners - old school style. IS there anyway to force it to respond from click presses anywhere on the pad? To be clear - doing a 'touch press' does work from anywhere on the pad, just not the 'click press' where you physically depress the touchpad - it feels the same wherever you press on the touchpad, but only responds in the corners as said.
Also, does anyone know if I can force a two finger tap or click of the touchpad to perform a 'right click' action, like on a Chromebook?
Thanks in advance good folks!
