Hi All,

after a really long process of eliminating every component (by using a friends computer) in my Set up, the guilty culprit is unfortunately my Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard.

what is happening is quite weird i can only use my PC every 24 hours, if i restart it it will fail to boot the system again( for 24 hours). power goes to all the components but it will not boot at all and i get "no signal" appear on screen.

the IT guys at works thinks it could be that the motherboard is not discharging properly, which seems to fit.

so has anyone had this problem before?

so that's my situation, what i am really annoyed about however is the terrible response time that the "ASUSTek Customer Service Center" is talking to even answer my question so i can get it RMA'ed, its like 3 days NOW and nothing.
WTF? should i just call them up..i have only had this motherboard for 15 months. it has a 3 years warranty but with this level of customer service im wondering if ASUS really value there customers these days.

has anyone had better luck?

Paul :)

Firstly, if you're certain it's the board you should take it back to your place of purchase. As it's in warranty (3 years from ASUS) they should have no quibble in carrying out an RMA - Assuming that the damage is not customer induced.

Where'd you buy it from?

@ Trumpsta well if i can i would love to, but i thought after 30 days after a purchase with OCUK it was no longer there problem and you had to then take the matter up with ASUS Directly

am i wrong?

G'luck.

OcUK is liable for significantly over 30 days under the UK sales of goods act, but some of their staff won't know this.

@Reality|Bites. surly even disabling this setting to try to solve this problem that is not the best solution. it shouldn't be a problem its been fine for over a year and a half.

thx for your input though but im fed up tring now, i just want it RMA'ed before it completely fails

I had the exact same problem with my old ASUS Blitz formula special edition. It only seemed to happen when I overclocked the CPU. (Q6600 + corsair dominator DDR 2 Ram).

The quick remedy was to simply take out the power cable (kettle plug I think its called) for about 10 seconds and then plug it back in. I never did find a solution for it but your theory on it not discharging properly is making a lot of sense.

I always assumed it was something to do with the overclock hence why I never RMA'd. The little lcd monitor that came with it always displayed the time which would be displayed anyway when the pc was shutdown.

well i have never over clocked it, i don't need to, its fast enough with 12gb of ram and a 295.
all i did was come in one evening to find that it does not switch on. and has been like this since, i cant use a motherboard that decides its not going to work one time then when you start it again it fails. i work in the games industry and i need it to do Max work.

Ocuk will warrant the full terms, you should give them a call or post in the customer forum below.

ASUS will endeavour to return RMAs to Overclockers UK in under 5 days, meaning you should get the board back pretty quickly if there's no hitches :)

Try turning off most of the extra functions in the BIOS and unplug all the non essential daughter cards to see if that helps. If it works then slowly tun on the functions one by one to troubleshoot what's causing the issue.

It might also be worth worth checking your voltage settings to make sure you're giving everything enough juice.

Mine has been working perfectly for about 18 months with the RAM set to 1.2V (it's rated at 1.66V!). I've changed mine to 1.66V now to see if it cures the problem.

Hope you get it sorted...

Ok, im going to try and take the whole thing apart, including all the cables and and go for it one by one. its the last thing i can do before i can honestly say that i have tried everything.

the last two days have been strange. one evening i got it working and resated multipale times , and so began to think it was fixed. i did notice the date and time was all wrong though when getting into windows. but I had reset the bios a few days before and left it.
however the next morning it was still not working, back to square one.

Asus have now responded, and have simply pointed me to a standard trouble shooting page and have told me to send it back to OCUK. if taking it apart and reassembling it does not fix the issue.

very fed up though :(

Paul

That really sucks :( But I wasn't expecting much more from ASUS to be honest - they have to make sure it's not something silly and hence the referral to the troubleshooting page. I'm also guessing that OcUK will say it's an ASUS issue and possibly not want to provide a replacement or test it out. Problem is, OcUK don't stock those mobos any more.

I think the only way to get it replaced (given it's age) is through ASUS directly. But that could be a long struggle :(

Hope you can fix it instead though. Good luck!
