Thats not a graphics card problem as the card isn't being used then as you don't have your card installed (drivers), could be your memory, id try one stick at a time, different slots.

Ran memtest86 on both sticks individually - passed fine.

Just looked in the case again (Antec p180) and noticed that the 120mm fan that sits at the bottom behind the power supply and HDD enclosure isnt spinning (oops) - have tried connecting it to different molex but still doesnt work.

So im wondering if general overheating is the issue (I have had the heating on in the room since it's turned colder)...

Have taken everything out of the case now and removed the sides and turned the heating off to keep everything cooler till I get a new fan later on...

Should I use ATiTool to test the gfx card now or something else? And is there anything else I should run to try and pinpoint the problem (it's a new format now btw)

Again - thanks for your help.

Yeah use ATItool to test for artifacts, as Concorde Rules says it's probably the core that's went. Is the fan on the card cooler working?

Have returned the CPU to stock speeds (FX60 clocked to 2.8 from 2.6) and it's all stable now - very odd indeed - has been clocked fine since March - wonder why the overclock would suddenly become unstable. Still doesnt "feel" right in games though - FPS isn't what it should be. I think something is damaged somewhere - have no idea what though. thanks for your help though guys.

edit - aye the fan is working fine Jokester
