Asus X370 Crosshair VI Hero PCIE 4.0

Good morning all,

So i have just been given an Asus X370 Crosshair VI Hero motherboard and read online that the early versions of the BIOS on here supported PCIE 4.0

I do not know what version of BIOS it is on currently but is it possible to downgrade if needed and does anyone know the latest version that still has PCIE gen 4?

I'm not sure you'd be able to get the bios versions that did support this via the usual channels but if you do a Google search for versions 7106 to 7306 you might have some luck.

I believe you should also be able to downgrade.

Those older BIOS versions were buggy and had really old pre-release AGEGA versions (0.0.7.2).
I cannot see any benefit going back that far just to have PCIe Gen4.
