Hi there, just built a Ryzen 7 3700x, on an Asus TUF Gaming X570plus and Team Group ripped edition 16gb 3600mhz ram.

MB-6DR-AS
MY-001-8P
CP-3B7-AM

in the bios with everything on auto the RAM only runs at 2400mhz, if i set it to 3600mhz the system won't post, I tried using DOCP with seemed to get all the timings etc right but it still won't post at 3600, the closest I've got it 3000.

any ideas?

thanks, Ian

Are you on an old motherboard bios? If so you'll need to update it :)

Have you tried xmp

excuse my ignorance, I've been building computers since 486's but it's something i've not heard of. is XMP a bios setting then? I found a DOCP setting that matched the timings and everything that was on the box, including the voltage, but the system wouldn't boot at 3600, but would at 3000, which is where i'm currently at.

yes sir, first thing i did.

Figured it, Ram slots 2 and 4 was the answer. and a gradual increase on speed and rebooting and now running at 3600.

I originally had them in 2 and 4 but thought that was the cause of the issue and went to 1 and 3, and as i got from 2400 to 3000 I figured that was correct.

thanks chaps

Is the RAM in the correct slots? Should be 2nd and 4th slot away from the CPU usually.
sorry didn't see your post as had the computer off and missed it, yes that was the answer! I built it like that originally but as it was clocked down figured I'd put them in the wrong slots

Glad you sorted it. The RAM slots catches a lot of people out.

I have 64gb of 8pack 3600 but can only run at 3200 whenever i switch to 3600 xmp (have also tried it manual) it will not post works fine with just 32gb, using a 3900x and a rog x570-f gaming, any help would be appreciated guys.
