Dear all

I just received the above motherboard from Amazon warehouse and tried to connect the CPU but it does not lock. Tried few times but it fails to lock. Thankfully did not press it hard.
Anyway took a pic of motherboard and there are some white stuff sticking to CPU Socket, it looks like toothpaste or maybe its the CPU paste.

. Please check the image for clear understanding.
Could anyone please help.
All I can think of is to use WD 40 on it to remove it. I found the WD40 silicone free or is there a specific one which I need to use.
What do you guys think.

Please advise. Many thanks.

if it's amazon, just return and reorder...if you do the return at a drop off point you normally get refunded straight away(ie as soon as they scan it at the drop off point) and then reorder. if you have prime you'll get it tomorrow

if there are any remnants of paste stuck to the socket it is probably a used Amazon return which has just got sent out again
