Hi there,

I am getting a Q Code 53 on the X99-A and the system is not booting.

Everything was working this morning but after installing some internal drives and some PCI cards I am now left with this problem.

I have removed all connections apart from the cooler, GPU and DDR4 (which I have removed to one stick) but this is not solving the problem.

Any thoughts on what has caused or could fix this would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks...

Q53 is Memory Initialization (i think).

Are you running the XMP profile, and have you tried clearing the CMOS, so resetting the BIOS back to default, and have you also tried each stick on its own, and in each of the 4x light grey slots ?

I think the Memory OK LED at the top right of the board (by the Memory OK button) stays lit as well if theres a Ram prob.

Could try the latest BIOS as well (if your not running it already), 1401, came out on the 17th.

Thanks very much for the info...

I tried testing each stick and then in each slot and managed to get it working. The final configuration was 2x in the grey on one side and 2x in black on the other (initially they were all on one side).

Not sure why this happened...

Is it running in quad channel? I have 4*8 and they are in the grey slots.
