ASUS X99 WS-E wont boot in cold.....

so i was not sure why my pc was not booting sometimes
i believe now its due to cold temperatures.

temperature on Motherboard are as low as 7c! (its cold in here) it should work... CPU is at 10c


what happens:
1) tries to boot, shows ASUS logo fails & drops to UEFI
2) booting from UEFI into the HDD fails
3) power-cycling the PC then it boots fine.

what ive tried:
1) removed both versions of windows
2) reinstalled Windows 8.1
3) update BIOS to 702
4) reset defaults
5) cleared CMOS
6) Set Motherboard to Ignore slow Fan speeds. (they spin at 100rpm)
7) turn off fast boot set delay to 3 Seconds

any ideas will help
 
no but its a brand new 840 samsung evo....


i have noticed that the boot drive is plugged in sata 8 might try sata 1 see if it helps maybe the higher ones are on different chipset
 
Disable fast boot,
in memory page/section is there an option to disable memory checking??
What are your SA volts and whats your mems timings/speed?
 
fast boot has been off for a while. set delay for 3 seconds

ill have a look for memory checking, but surely that would slow the boot down helping it?

everything is on Auto now
Memory is set to XMP so 2400mhz 16-16-16-39


Yesterday i was using the pc for good 12 hours solid (BF4) turned it off for an hour. Turned on Back to BIOS.
might turn off the OC its only going up 300mhz though.
something is defiantly a miss :(

second boot 99.9% almost always works

2 x 980GTX (stock)

Are you getting a q-code? If it's hanging check what is displayed on the motherboard when it happens. If it's only happening from cold there are several things you can try.

You may have to adjust SA voltage either up or down, this is not linear, you may be running too much in auto, this can affect post procedure.

Cache voltage, increase cache voltage 10 to 20mv.

Input voltage, again, 10 to 20mv.

Lastly you can try eventual dram voltage. This is located under dram timings. Set the eventual here of the voltage your memory kit is rated for. Then under DRAM voltage in AItuner set the voltage 10-20mv higher than your eventual. For example kit specifies 1.2v, set a dram voltage of 1.22v, and set an eventual voltage of 1.2v
