I'm looking at replacing my aging Audigy 2 ZS with an Asus Xonar, probably the new D2X model since it is PCI-Express, and I don't want another PCI soundcard so I'm a bit limited at the moment. (Got a mATX case and I want to utilitize my PCIe slot instead of cramming my soundcard right up next to my GPU, plus it makes sense for the future.)
Anywho, I've read reviews which are very positive (http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/13874) about the card, but I'd like to know if anyone has one and has anything to say about it? I'd just like to know if there are any downsides to the card. My Audigy has served me well but sound quality as well as the driver/surround sound support in Vista is starting to bug me.
So, thoughts on this card, yay or nay? I'd just like to know if it's worth the money - from what I've read/seen so far it looks like a fantastic package overall; but word of mouth means more to me than an Internet review.
