Hi all

Got one of these cards yesterday, pretty happy with it so far but have a problem (i think)

in vlc player and powerdvd, i dont get s/pdif option (i did before, with realtek onboard)
although the s/pdif works, as i get sound through it, it says dolby digital or dts on receiver sounds nice, surround speakers all working (5.1 vlc setting/6channel powerdvd setting)

Im just puzzled that the option has disappeared and maybe im not getting the best results from the card, any ideas?

edit: forgot to say im on vista x64

i do in vista 32. maybe its a drive issue. i wouldnt have thought the sound would degrade by any great deal, but it depends how well the drivers do the upconverting i guess.

hmm so basically, if you use the spdif option in vlc etc the decoding is done by the amp? and if not, soundcard does the converting?

find all this stuff a bit confusing :P still havnt tried reinstaling yet, too busy working :( mess around some more at the weekend
