hi, quick question. what type of optical out connection does it take? not to clued up on optical connections so help would be great.

thanks

i use the Logitech Z5500 Digital with the xi-fi but have just received my Xonar D2x today and they have an optical port.

awesome speakers, def worth the £180

Agreed :) using them just now with onborad and they sound good (to me at least!) should sound even better when i get a half decent sound card.

Word of warning though....you will fall out with your wife/girlfriend (women just dont understand) and also the neighbours. Wondering how long before the police come to my door. They put a smile on your face though trust me :)

edit ...oh andf dont forget the fuse problem!!! Just switch off at wall ONLY and never at the rear of sub!!! Plus make sure control center is of at the time :)

aagh finally good crackly free sound, just installed my new Asus xonar D2X and it sounds sweet through the z5500's. And you get a lot of extras with this card.

right so for example i have

xonar > z5500 so toslink to connect together

but I also want

sony 32w4000 > z5500

is it possible to do without switching whats plugged into z5500 everytime you want to listen to pc sound then tv sound?

hope you understand

or would the tv actually go

optical out > toslink cable > xonar optical in then > xonar optical out > toslink cable > optical in z5500

therefore not needing a splitter type device untill i add a dvd player/console

not sure if this is a long way about way or not

look forward to advice

thanks
