Hello i just got an ASUS Xonar DG and set it all up removed my onboard audio drivers and disabled onboard audio in BIOS, But when I install the drivers that are on the CD it says "Please plug-in your ASUS Xonar DG audio device".

I tried to download a different version to try that and the problem is still there.
Windows has detected the card in device manager so i know its working.

Anyone got any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks
Ross

i never removed the drivers for the on board sound i just disabled it in the bios...

then my DG went straight in no bother...

Tried it in an older PC with XP, im getting the same problem when installing the drivers "Please plug-in device" So im assuming its something wrong with the card.

I had the same issue with my D1. you need to remove the graphic card HDMI drivers and then disable the HDMI audi in device manager.
Once I done that I was able to install the Asus drivers/software without any problems.

I had this problem. I solved it by trying every available driver (starting at the 3rd party unified, then going through the old outdated official ones) until one eventually worked.

I'm afraid I can't be more specific bc the process was an endless trial and error session and I don't recall the exact circumstances which got it working. I definitely went through the process of shifting pci slots and uninstalling/reinstalling ad nausiem.

It was a massive hassle, but the card has been working perfectly since so don't give up!

Was just about to post about the very same issue! I've had my card for just over a year and in general it has been working fine.

The other day the headphone amp seemed to be causing problems but updating the drivers fixed that. Today I restarted my PC after the sound went really odd (like echoing and sounding awful) and the sound card now doesn't exist according to Windows. Tried to reinstall the drivers but as OP found the software/driver won't install and gives the error "Please plug-in your ASUS Xonar DG audio device".

Going to try this EEPROM thing pooley mentioned, hope it works :)

EDIT: That EEPROM thing seemed to have fixed it. Thanks to pooley :)
