Basically I got absolutely nothing through the Mic on my headset (Roccat Kave 5.1 Analog's bought at the same time). TeamSpeak and Windows have nmo indication that there's anything coming through.

If I plug the headset into the onboard sound and re-enable it in the BIOS it works and I can be heard but I get this weird crackle through the headset whenever I move the mouse so I don't want to use onboard if I can.

Does anyone else have this setup? What options should I be using as I've tweaked and changed so much I'm not really sure what the default is!

I've tried both:

and:

Both settings make no difference. Still absolutely nothing through the headset Mic. I was given drivers for the sound card from http://maxedtech.com/category/uni-xonar/ and I've also tried the official ones from the CD. Again no sound. Safe to say the mic port is faulty and raise an RMA?

I'm pretty certain there is nothing wrong with your sound card as I had the same problem. You need to change your recording device through windows. I tried everything you did to no avail son sorted it out for me in the end also make sure you are plugging the jacks in the back directly into the sound card

But that's what I've done above? Set both line in and mic each time but still nothing?mi get sound from all speakers when I do the speaker test in windows so I do think I have the jacks in the right connectors otherwise some of the speakers wouldn't work. So I'm back to thinking it's the sound card.

And now I can't get any sound from the damned thing at all! Attempting to install any driver, from website, alternative website drivers and the CD all say that no device found and there's nothing showing up in Device manager either. Removed and re-seated the card and still nothing. Gone back to on board sound and, as before, sound and mic working perfectly. :(

That's annoying all I can suggest now is maybe call the overclockers help line and see if they can help, other than checking that the onboard sound is disabled in bios it could well be faulty. Hope you get it sorted out soon

I had the same issue with mine. To fix it, i went into the asus audio center, Mixer, Record and then make sure the eye under mic is black and then check on the spanner next to it and make sure its set to mic and not front port or whatever you were planning on using.

That baffled me when I first combined the card with a headset too. It's absurd that such an important setting is buried away like that!

I may try it again this week then before RMA'ing it. Thanks.
