ive been recommended to buy an xonar DX, but the problem is there is no phono sockets at the back so you can connect to the amp :S
i was looking and you can get one of those cables for mp3's to an amp which would work to connect from the back of the sound car to the amp, but would this not affect sound quality? The xonar d2x has the correct sockets at the back, but thats out of my price range.

if anyone has had this as an issue, how did you overcome it?

Adam.

3.5mm jack to phono cable:

You are correct that a 3.5mm jack has a much smaller surface between the interconnects than a phono connection, which could degrade the quality. However, the current is very low and in contrast to the gauge of the wire within the output stages it is not all that bad. IMO there is no gain to be had by purchasing the more expensive card unless you have an existing phono cable that you would like to make use of.

well thank you for that! :)
i do have a phono cable i have been meaning to use, but there is no point spending extra for a card i hear is not much better than the cheaper model, so i will just buy that 3.5mm jack

thanks !
