when i play games i get a echo, or repetition when a sound is played. usually voice sound by a human voice. it will say:

"Breach the..." followed by the same straight after but completing the sentence "Breach the door now!"

is this the sound card?

e8400
ati 4850
4Gb geil 6400
samsung 320B f1
asus p5q pro.

its a clean install of vista 64 bit premium OEM on a new system.
i have the latest catalyst drivers for the GPU, aswell as mobo drivers and windows update.

its also missing a lot of other sounds, like reload sounds, and various bullet sounds when chaning camera angle.

I have the same problem with r6 vagas 2 too, and assasins creed.

I think it is something to do with dolby digital live cards, i.e. the on the go encoding.

I had a HDA X-Mystique Dolby Live sound card, that was doing that too, then installed a spare X-Fi Platinum and it fixed it. So i thought it maybe a dieing sound card so i bought a Xonar DX but exact problem re-occured

Try using PCM output, i can't do it cos i too have a clean windows install. will have to install games 1st.

Same think happens in Mass Effect. That's the main thing I miss from my X-Fi. Alchemy remembered the settings for games and you could set up profiles for games that didn't work automatically.

It will be a pain for Xonar users with lots of games to remember what DS3D-GX setting they're supposed to use for games.
