Asus Xonar STX 2

hiya, yeah i come across that but requires you to disable a few things like windows driver device checks or something and to be honest wouldn't want to do that. :/

i tried emailing Asus support to see if they can just send me the driver via email and their website is horrendous for support, No live chat, email requires you to login. Reset my password twice still couldn't login so no support either, joke!

Oh,i missed that one!

Super duper just installed those drivers working fine!
just out of curiosity what makes the Uni Xonar drivers better than the original drivers?

Yeah i didn't really notice a difference in sound quality, Just glad he mentioned it as the website was down for days!

Now im on the real/un-modified drivers.

OH sorry, i didnt realise you'd replied.

If everything was fine before then you wont hear any difference. You'll have a lower latency if you choose the cmedia control panel over the regular xonar control panel, and lower still if you chose their custom control panel (least features though). Lower DPC latency is always welcome buy you wont really notice the latency (assuming it isn't already causing you problems) unless you use it for music production and whatnot. otherwise, they are much the same.

Its been awhile since I ran any Asus audio hardware, between a few different rigs owned by myself and friends (Essence ST, Xonar DG, and a couple more) the official drivers were an absolute ballache.

Very high latency, buggy in various other ways ways such as crashing and an annoying echo that wouldn't go away on a DG. UniXonar always ran flawlessly by comparison, but we're talking years ago on W7 at this point.
