Hey,

Long time lurker here looking for some advice please.

I have a workstation as above, been running 2 Titan X's in a water loop fine. I picked up a couple more Titans with a view of running 4.

When the two cards arrived I tried them in the rig with the stock coolers. Was a tight fit, but they worked fine. It got a little shakey at one point, so I took the liberty of replacing the Corsair 1200i PSU (with the 1500i version) at the same time I ordered up the parts to watercool the other two cards.

While I was waiting on the EK quad SLI block, I fitted the new waterblocks to the new pair of cards, and put them in the system (to replace the original two) just to make sure they worked fine - which they did.

The EK block arrived, so I fitted the 4 cards.. and now the machine won't POST. I get the 8 beeps of doom, and that's it.

Am I missing something here? I replaced all the cabling just in case it was PSU related, but to no avail. Taking two cards out again, and the system works. So both pairs of cards work fine at least... and it appeared to be ok with 4 cards with a mix of 2 wc'd and 2 on air.. but was that just a fluke?

Could it be BIOS related?

I'm running the latest version 3204 FWIW and the board rev is 1.04 which I think is the latest one they did. I read a forum post of a guy with a similar build and he didn't seem to have any issues.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, after a few hours of stress.. turns out you enable "above 4g decoding" and then it will work just like that..

Phew, time to bench!

sounds like a nice system! have you got any pics :) also i would love to see the benchmarks. i have a z9pe d8 ws and thats a great board too. also how much power does it draw? you should be able to see in corsair link.

I took one, just to kinda commemorate the fact that I got it all working - but really it's a working rig, so downtime is bad.

Not sure if there are image size limits here, so it's in a spoiler tag:

Unigine seems to be weird - the 4th card is basically idle from what I can tell, and the benchmark score seems to show that. 2400 odd with Extreme HD preset..?

However the rig is for Iray rendering, so it doesn't even use SLI... just needs to be stable.

The load info from Corsair link had to be sacrificed until I can get a low-profile USB header adapter.. it's a royal pain in the rear having them all in at the bottom of the motherboard, as it interferes with the 4th card.
