Hi I have just assembled a new system

I have connected everything as per the manual.

When I switch on the power supply switch, a green light blinks once (SB_PWR LED) on the motherboard and that's it.

Nothing starts. I have checked everything is inserted properly. Processor, heatsink etc... all correctly installed.

The pc configuration is as follows

1. Asus Z170-A Signature series mobo
2. Intel i7 6700k processor
3. Kingston Hyperx Furry 2666 MHz 16 gb(2x8gb)
4. Seasonic 550w PSU 5. In-win 703 case

Do you think the motherboard may have been damaged?

There are no Standoff screws that have been installed because In-win 703 case already has bumps. so no need to install standoff screws

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Build it outside of the case to be 100% sure no shorting out. Even with those standoffs. I dont know the case but my first guess would be this.

Use 1 stick of ram

Do you have another PSU you can use?

Rebuild from scratch, if you are new building don't worry its probably somethign trivial but i understand the heartache :P

The Manual says it comes with standoffs... As i say i don't know this case but it seems odd they are unused at all...

I took the power supply out, mother board out and tried to power up the board but no joy. :( Only green light (Power_SW) blinks once and that's all.

I do not have another power supply unfortunately.

There are three cables (2 grey and 1 black cable (USB 3.1 - the black cable)that goes in USB3_12 - I hope I am right? (port No.6 on Asus Z170 -a Manual)Page 14 Grey cable (USB 2.0) - Goes in either of the ports No.14 highlighted in the Asus Manual. Link to the Asus manual is as follows (Diagram on page 14)

Thanks once again for all your help and my apologies we are having to go forward and backward on this one.

Do you think I may have damaged the mother board because no standoffs have been used???? But If I use standoffs, the board does not align to the back IO plates hence I removed the standoffs. It comes with 3 standoff screws.
