Asus z170-a won't post

Hi all,

Building a friends machine and I can't get anything to post.

RAM light stays on so have the different channel and each module separately.

Ram is 2x8GB KINGSTON fury black. Ddr4 pc419200C15 2400MHz.

Any ideas?

Got both power connector inserted in the board? Front panel on/off switch hooked up to the correct pins?

Yep both power connectors are in. On off switch and light works so I presume they are correct.

Everything seems to get power but the dram led stays on.

Disconnect all drives.

Try connecting monitor directly to the board and remove GFX card if you are using one.

then one ram stick at a time.

motherboard model and cpu model please ?
Check next to the cpu... if the 4 or 8 pin power is connected
