Hi Everyone

Im not sire if this is posted in the correct place but if anyone can help me out it would be much appriciated.

I have built my pc using the asus z170i and cannot get it to power on. I get a static red led once the PSU is powered however when i press the power button it does nothing. I have checked the cable coming from the power button and it seems to be correctly seeted within the adapted provided with the motherboard and it also looks correctly seated onto the board. Please help i just want to get back to gaming.

Disconnect everything apart from the cpu/heatsink and one stick of ram then try again. If nothing try the ram in another slot, if nothing try the other stick of ram in a slot..

If still nothing, and you are sure it's wired correctly then I would look at re-seating the CPU. Take care when you take it out to check thoroughly in the socket for bent pins!! It can take a very small bend in a pin to make it not work.

Thanks for the help guys but unfortunately it is still not working, could it be that the power button on the front is faulty? Is there a way to attempt to power on without using that button?

Use a metal object like a screw driver and short the two power btn pins on the mobo with it.
