Asus Z690-i gaming PCI Express speed confusion

Hi all

Just swapped out a 12900k for 13700k and my GPU performance has dropped considerably.

I ran a render test on GPU-Z and my GPU (Nvidia 3090) now maxes out at PCI 4.0 @ 4x 4.0, which is slower than before.

I made no other changes to my system, and the 12900k and 13700k both have 20 pcie lanes.

I am using two Samsung 980 Pro SSDs as before.

Obviously some BIOS setting I need to adjust, but any idea which?

Well that's running at pcie 2.0 x 16 no wonder your scores have dropped.

Bios look for Pcie configaration ( PCIEX16_1) should be set to auto but could change it to pcie3, pcie4, etc.

Maybe slightly diffrent on Asus.

re-seated graphics card and it's back to PCI 4.0 8x 4.0

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the 3090 be running at pcie 4.0 x 16 ?

Pcie 4.0 x 8 is pcie 3.0 x 16.

Not with two pcie 4.0 NVME drives populated on a mini ITX motherboard.

At most I am losing 2% FPS, if that.
