Asus z790 cpu undervolt help!

OK so some good results but also some questions!!!

Using cinebench r32 to test and hwmonitor to well, monitor...

I progressed the negative offset from 0.005 up to 0.1, running it at 0.2 causes boot fail.

  • Cinebench scores teh same within margin of error, around 23500 give or take 50 between runs.
  • Peak wattage is down by 15watts.
  • Peak temperature is down 10c.
All good stuff!

The questions though, I noticed in BIOS when increasing the negative voltage offset, that the value I type is coloured white, at 0.2 it goes yellow, higher it goes purple, and higher still it goes red _ im guessing this is some sort of warning and ive not run it above 0.2 which caused a boot fail twice, or does it mean some other setting needs to be tweeked to compensate?

Also there doesn't seem to be much performance difference 0.06 and 0.1 -offset, any reason to change the -offset to less than 0.1?

BIOS is running stock other than XMP and vcore negative offset.

You aren't temp or power limited in your setup so doubt undervolting will have any effect on performance at stock.

Also 200mv is quite a massive underclock so not surprised it caused stability issues.

OK thanks, I'll leave it at -0.1 then, identical to stock performance in cinebench, but less power consumption and cooler temps, which is esentially what I was trying to achive.

Dunno if theres any benefit by going back to -0.06ish, but i guess if i run into any stability issues I have breathing room to reign in the negative offset?
