Good afternoon all,

I have decided that it may be time to upgrade my storage (128GB for games just doesn't cut it any more) and was looking at my options.

I have noticed that my current board has a M.2 Socket 3 port on it (it really has taken me this long to look at the board and work it out) however its a 10Gb/s slot. So my question is will any of the newer M.2 cards work in it or do I need to look at getting an older variant?

Many thanks

They come in 3 lengths,2280,2260,2240mm

Most popular are 2280mm and should fit

Something like the sabrent rocket 1tb

By using the m.2 slot it usually disables two sata ports,so bare that in mind

Okay I will check out the length to make sure and look at which ports I am using o make sure there is no conflict.

Many thanks for the help :)

I found this out a while back when I got a really good deal on an asus z97P that had a sata port ripped off the board.
I spent hours on replacing the sata port.... and then the soddin' thing didn't work after I installed the M2 drive. Grrrrrr
