I know you've proven that is has 256Mb of memory soldered to it.

But Does it use it all? I mean, is it possible and is it that case that they have also had to tell tha thing to use 128Mb?

Right now I don’t think anything use’s or benefits from the extra memory. Some even say the current games hardly use the PPUs total power.

The extra memory should be active as its more work to disable it then leave it. Buts its going be a long time before anything benefits from that extra memory. Right now most of the PPU games are light on Physics.

Most of the games so far are just patch’s to add physics after development was already underway. What we need is a game made from the ground up with the PPU in mind to really show off its power. Untill that happens I dont see the extra ram being usefull.

CellFactor - Revolutions could be the first game to use the PPU's power.

I read a note from ASUS that the GPU only supports 128MB of memory, the extra 128 you have is basically useless.

ASUS now only make 128MB units.......

The card doesn't really do ANYTHING at the moment, let alone use its 256Mbs of memory :)
