Hi guys got a problem here

when I hibernate my PC
EVERY DAY it still turns on at 11am I am sure it is 11am because I get signed out of msn when I am at work
it def isn't anyone at home it might be an application.

what could be causing it to turn on at 11am?

mmm scheduled task?

I swear I check the virus scanner AVG I cancelled "come out of power off" mode

in vista where do I see the scheduled tasks?

and what do you mean by BIOS alarm?

Oh right thanks I'll check it out
it's an asus motherboard
hope it is an alarm this problem has been driving me insane

it won't do it when it is shutdown though.

Scheduled tasks appear under your adminstative tools in control panel I do believe. Though if you don't know about it, I doubt you have set one...

If you use S3 sleep, windows can wake the PC from the task scheduler, Windows 7 beta for example, defaults to checking for media player updates and media "program listings" at 1am, and it will wake up the PC to do it.

In the power plan settings there's a tickbox to disable scheduled wakeups, or you can go to the scheduler, and disable wakeup on any task that makes use of it.

Im guessing Vista probably has the same abilities, and more or less the same "configuration"

thanks it does look like it is media centre updating because it points to that time of 11am

my pc comes on then and the update occurs at 11:02 that makes some sense

i just disabled the task but it def didnt look like it was set to "wake up if turned off"

the pc is coming OUT of hibernation not going into it
