Had my cooler master pop and smoulder last night, went and replace it with a corsair gs600, mobo seems to be getting power, but just wont start, nothing out of the ordinary that i can see, any idea what the problem could be?

Unfortunately, i've no other system to test, however i'll get some photos up.
I just hope that the motherboard isn't ready for the scrapheap, took me ages to get lol
As far i can tell everything is connected correctly, you'll need to excuse the cable mess, the gs600 psu isn't exactly cable tidy friendly....

Nope nothings even starting up, i get my overclocking lights coming on, showing the board has power, but nothing happens at all

of course i'd blame the psu. pesky non modular pc world guff lol

I've no other system to test, which sucks, my on the fly overclocking lights are on, the republic of gamers logo no longer flashes though, the creative x-fi lighting on my sound card no longer lights up

CPU power connected? (It's a separate connector to the motherboard power connector)

Yeah it was one of the first things i plugged in.

And i know, all the friends and family are using netbooks, i'm the only one with the urge to play games on my pc rather than my 360/ps3.

would there be a noticable performance increase between the q6600 and an amd phenom 2 6 core?

I've never delved into amd territory with the exception of graphics cards, not sure how well there processors fare compared intel.

seen a few bundles, cpu, mobo ram
and waiting on someone coming round to have a look, might end up replacing near enough the whole lot, which really really sucks

I'll need to wait and see, depending how much of my system is ready to get heaved out the window.

is there any bundles in specific that you'd recommend?

turns out the psu had bbq'ed my mobo.....
ah well stuck to using the laptop for everything till i can sell off all my old bits lol

cheers for the input guys, much appreciated

Sorry bud, i thought i had replied, yeah they were connected to the mobo, gutted that it's on the scrapheap now, selling off all my old stuff to fund a new bundle from ****,

my current case is crap for keeping tidy, any suggestions on something big enough to keep tidy, but not big enough to be a little too big? if that makes sense lol

i've got an NZXT M59 case just now, and can't seem to keep the cables from sprouting everywhere.
