Hey guys,

I'm planning on getting my daughter a little dirt bike when she's old enough (long time yet) and taking her out on it every weekend if possible, she seems to love motorbikes, dirt bikes the most tho, before I sold my KX250F she would always want to sit on it lol.

Anyway, I'm going to get her a balance bike and get her sorted on that then when she seems ready get her a bike with training wheels while she gets used to starting and stopping etc.

Now what bike would be best? I was thinking a KTM 50 mini adventure with a restriction clutch and washer in, thoughts? Also I would like to trail ride with her before taking her to a track, I'm in Northamptonshire, where could we go? Some nice woods would be perfect

Thanks guys

i had suzuki semi auto at the age of 6 and was racing at 8
i started of in a quarry, we dont have 1 any more ( became houses)

also look at the old honda monkey bikes, very well built easy to ride even adults can ride them and hold their money well.

My first bike was the yamaha yz50 and my older brother took me over the newly built by-pass road on tarmac which is where i learned to ride...It was right next to the fields !
No helmet I remember and flipping it 1st time riding :) That bike seized up 3 times while I had it costing more than my dad payed for the bike ... new piston and rings 3 times and a rebore once to a dt50 piston....Another kid over the field had the honda monkey bike and never broke down once!

I've looked at the yamaha pw50 and suzuki jr50 both rev and go 2 strokes, but the ktm mini adventure would last longer I think as I can control the power and adjust suspension and height when ever she needs it, plus I'm looking at a KTM sx125 for myself so might be easier getting parts etc.

I have a local kawasaki mx dealer but kawasaki's smallest kids bike I'd the KX65 :(

yeah the old pw50 is a good little bike beasty, another friend of mine had one when I was a kid lasted longer than my old yz's.
This same mate had a ktm crosser up for sale a few years ago a guy came round to buy it ...asked for a test ride and the guy went up the road and never came back! lesson learnt.
His old pw50 was really reliable,
Another mate of mine has or had the ktm for his kids dont know which model but I'll ask him later what its like, dont think hes got it anymore.

Yeah the kx65 are powerful little things, after my yz50 I had the big wheel yz80 gold wheels and the front wheel was never on the ground...like the kx65's
