What Ati card (and upwards) is better than the Nvidia GTS 640mb.

am looking to upgrade to crossfire but will only be getting one card to start so just want it better. av had a look but each has its pros and cons.

any help will do thanks
 
Nothing other than the 4 series is better than the 640 gts bar the 3870x2. The 2900xt and 3870 were probably on par and not an upgrade but for crossfire they were obviously faster.

whilst 2900XT, 3870XT, 3870X2 and any of the 48xx series are faster your best bet is to look at the 48xx series as they probably offer best bang per buck
 
yeah in understood what the guy ment at beginning putting the < and > the wrong way.

ok so gonna have a look at some 48xx series and buy another later down the line, say about christmas.
