I am thinking about getting a Audio Technicha AT2020 for online gaming, but I really don't know if it's worth it.

What are cheaper options which also have a good quality and can be positioned on the table, considering I already own a headphone?

The Blue Snowball/ICE are two other options for desk mounted mics. A third option is the Antlion ModMic which you can attach to your headphones - link

Out of interest, will you be using the mic for streaming or recording? If not, a cheapo clip on mic will more than suffice - dx.com has a clip on mic for £1.56 that has been perfectly adequate for me (competitive TF2/CSGO/BF4) over the past 3 years. A more 'locally available' alternative to the dx.com clip on is the Speedlink SPES (which I also have, and is identical in sound quality to the dx).

As above a simple clipon mic will do the job, no need to splash out if you're just going to be using it for gaming

Yes, I will be using the microphone exclusively for gaming. I already own a Zalman MIC-1. But the quality is very bad, even with the gain and levels properly adjusted the volume is too low. I am really thinking about getting a Blue Snowball, the quality seems to be pretty solid.
