My ATCS 201 is becoming too noisy and hot to cope with my kit now days and I'm after another quality case just bigger and with better cooling.

Does anyone have an 840 who can tell me what the build quality is like? Preferably I'm after something with a similar quality to my 201, although the only case I have seen which rivals it in recent years is the TJ-07 but that is just a bit out of my price range. I'm not interested in steel cases, but if anyone knows of a quality ally case up to around £170 im open to suggestions :)

I currently have an ATCS 840, build quaility is excellent & to be honest it's better than my previous TJ-07.The only problem with the case is the side panels are a bit flimsy & the stock cooling is not the best in the world but can be improved by disconnecting the front top fan as it sucks out the air from the front intake fan.Only other thing i would do is replace the rear fan as it's poor to say the least.

Worth having a read through this thread.

Build quality is nice, sharp edges on the cutouts of the grills (ie the bottom and PSU section), but nowhere else.

The rear top corners are pinpoint sharp. Can be hard to slide the top off sometimes. I always try softly as don't want to scratch anything.

The drive cages are okay, but it was more work to put a drive in the removable cage than the ones that come in the fractal design. Those ones felt more sturdy than the plastic coolermaster ones.

The front panel with the logo hiding the fan can be a faff to get off at first, but once you figure out how it's held it becomes easy to remove.

The front top curved part is razor sharp as well, you can only really feel it when you remove the front cover off though.

Lastly, it's BIG and heavy-ish without a system in it. I almost fell down the stairs trying to bring it into the loft when it was fully built with components in it.

As above using a ATCS 840 myself and the build quility is amazing it is the best case ive owned.

Also as Amidar said replace the rear exahust fan its terrible.

Thanks guys, I think I will go with the 840. I'm supprised you think it's better than the TJ07 build wise, that's a good thing! I may go watercool at some point and apparently the 840 can fit a 120.3 in the top fan space so also tempting.

Yeah it fits a 360 rad fine with the supplied brackets & will also support as well as the top 360 rad a 240 rad to the 2 x 120mm fan bracket that sits behind the lower drive bays.

Ive half modded mine. Ive installed a dual rad at the front and removed the front bottom lip. Its a huge case and only issue ive had are ratty side panels.
