Quite a nice thought here, imagine this situation.

The year is 2006, and ATCs were still soldiering on producing an updated 201.

The 201 had just gotten the 120mm fan upgrade that happened to the PC7 so they are on the old playing field again, 201's against the PC7 and PC60.

Both cost around the same, £50-£90 so it all still fits in with Lian Li's price reductions over time.

Which one would you spend your money on, the updated 201 or the current PC7+II / PC60?

Just want to see if the decission is as clear cut as it was all those years ago. If people could not mention which case actually was the 'top' one I would appreciate it.

201: (add in a slightly larger front grill for 120mm)

Or the long serving PC7+II:

If I can have the 201 in black.. then definately yes, I would have that over a pc7. The 201 just looks better IMO. The fan grill is better, and it does't have the tacky 'carbon fiber' strip that the lian li has.

The poll seems to be suggesting what I was thinking. would be brilliant if they still made them, but a new updated range. :(

I would buy a RRP 201, 210 or 110 new in a heartbeat if it was new. Right shame they have gone. :(

It is updated imaginary 201 v PC7+II.

We know the outcome of the 201 v PC7 and PC60 originals, the ATCs somewhat one in the end. :p (although winning cost them a lot)

Hmm, I voted from a realistic perspective before fully reading the OP. But regardless, I wouldn't expect an updated CM201 to be that cheap or at least relatively so compared to the pc7.

ATCS all the way.

All thats required from these cases is a slightly larger chasis in order to get the 120mm fans front and back WITH a removable motherboard tray!
