Arggh I am pulling my hair out on this one!
I have the Atheros Ar9285 wireless card in my laptop (yes I am aware its not brilliant) when I first started using this card it used to have a decent throughput (connected at 150Mbps) since a driver update it now has a habit of connecting at 150Mbps but the maximum throughput is more along the lines of 54Mbps. Adding to this it seems to rename itself to random adapter numbers!
Ie Wireless Adapter #1 after a reboot + driver update its now named Wireless Adapter #3
Rolling back the drivers doesnt seem to change anything on the speed/name side of things and uninstalling/reinstalling this via device manager also produces the same issues!
