Athletics London Anniversary Games

Yep. Even more astonishing was the american girl Kendra Harrison a bit earlier. She didn't qualify for the upcoming Olympics and yet she just broke a 28 year standing world record for the 100m hurdles.

Edit: 9.52pm Bolt on now in the 200m.

He looks utterly knackered. He admitted he's not fully in shape though. But he'll be gone after this year as he said it's his last olympics. I just can't imagine world athletics without such a showstopper.

That was incredible. Seriously incredible.

There's a reason all the women's power events' records are so old and mostly held by eastern Europeans, so to break one is unbelievable stuff.

Well, Christine Ohuruogu and Jessica Ennis really should hang up their running shoes. They've been rubbish today.

I think you're maybe being a bit unfair on Jessica Ennis-Hill, for a multi-eventer to make the finals of a specialist event with a world class field is still pretty good going. Ok so she ran better in the heats than in the final but it's worth remembering that the lady who won it broke a world record that stood for almost three decades, the rest of the field weren't even close and that includes all the dedicated 100m hurdlers.

Awesome run from Laura Muir. New British 1500m record.

Indeed, she won it running from the front as well and had a huge gap to second place by the end. I hope she can perform similarly in Rio. I was also impressed with Jake Wightman's time in the mile, knocking almost three seconds off his PB and Katarina Johnson-Thompson for getting a new high jump PB.
