Just purchased and it's OEM and I didnt order a heatsink/fan doh!!

Errm can I just use the block thats on the A64 3700+ or will that not be efficient enough ???

Yeah I won't be overclocking it.

The other CPU is only 6 months old so will prob try and flog it on here for a price or keep it as a backup (not that i think i'd need it)

I wouldn't be surprised to get 2.8GHz at stock volts as I have one with the same codes and it does that. It works for a while in Orthos at 3GHz too but eventually freezes. I suspect it's either my memory settings need tweaking or 3GHz is just a little too far for the memory controller on the CPU.

I doubt I will be doing any overclocking. I need to get an Arctic cooler for it though.

My memory sucks anyway so doubt I could get much out of it.

According to the AMD website the TDP for both processors is 89W, you say you're not going to o/c so I'd have thought the old hsf should be adequate unless anyone knows better?

Cool, well for the moment I shall use the old one until I order an Arctic Freezer hsf. I will wait til next month because i want a new case too.
