Athlon 64 X2 FX-60 939 still being sold??

OCUK do not stock them anymore, but you might be able to get them elsewhere for example that well known auction site.

Ive checked that well know auction site but nothing :( i dont want to upgrade to C2D as socket 939's are still excellent cpu's

Yeah AMD have already scaled back/stopped production of s939 CPU's, so it's unfortunate but common circumstance for a lot of users.

Edit: Can see plenty of the CPU's you want on that well known site.

You could get an Opteron instead, the high end ones can be just as fast as the FX-60.

Though, personally, if you are willing to spend 300 or something on a FX-60, I would rather pour that in to a new Conroe rig.

E4300 110
Geil 2GB ram 130
Asus P5N-E SLI 80

They are the components I am using, and when overclocked (even if you did a small overclock, say to 2300MHZ (which to the E4300 is not even stretching its legs) would beat an FX60...

Its ok ive found them and "wow" they are still quite expensive, was expecting them to cost less than 300

I am in the same boat, but is not worth the money. Expensive deprecated technology. No thanks. Go for something new or wait for something newer. More performance with the same or less money this way :D

For the price of an FX60 you may as well buy this:

Click

And when overclocked would thrash and fx60!

Plus you could sell of your old cpu, ram and mobo

Thats what i have done and no looking back, abolutely unbelievable performance increase

I would go for that, couple quid more but you get 2GB ram. About the same price as an FX-60, cheaper after you sell off the old parts.

Yep totally agree, I know it is a pain to have to reformat and install windows etc. on a new machine - but why waste money on old technology?!
