Athlon II X4 only showing as a dual core?

hey guys, just chucked my old athlon II quad 635 in my other machine for some testing, the board in question is an ECS A885GM-A2

everything boots fine but windows is only showing the chip as a dual core, same for cpu-z and prime 95, the athlon works fine as a quad in my other machine ( see siggy ) but i'm at a loss on how to get it working properly?

i've tried updating the bios but it's fully up-to date, even clearing the cmos didnt work. anyone have any suggestions?

Try going into Device Manager, right click on processors and select scan for hardware changes.

Click start, run and type msconfig. Go to the Boot tab, then advanced options and deselect the number of processors check box, ok everything, restart and all your cores will be present.
