Athlon XP @ 2600 mhz - what does this compare to?

It think it would be the same as about a Venice 3000/3200 S939 chip, which have much more memory bandwidth and better clock for clock performance. Or a 3.2ghz P4, maybe a little higher, I'm not that sure about intel. If your happy with your system I'd hold off and wait to see what Conroe and AM2 bring later this year, because you can either go the whole hog and go to dual core on the new chipsets, or pick up some bargain single core chips as everyone starts to migrate over to the newer stuff.
