Which gives the best real World performance/

the xp-2600 since its got a lot more on the clock speed.

also my old xp-m2600 ran at 2ghz stock so how come a 2800m runs at 1.6 stock? is it a sempron?

Surely a higher number CPU should be faster? Or otherwise thats a stupid system.

It might be clocking down, as some of them do, so might be faster if its under pressure? Not sure really :\

It depends as much on Cache and how effivcient the chip is aswell as the Clockspeed.
/thinks back to the wasted clock cycles on P4's

Obviously not when comparing to the crappy p4s ;) But within the athlon range, they should at least keep some order to them, if a xp2800 is faster than a xp2400, surely thats false advertising as from the name youd expect the xp2800 to be faster and you would pay more for it
