Do ATI normally release these on the roughly the same date each month, or does it vairy ?
any ideas on the official 10.3 release ?

My guess, it will completely depend on what reviewers get the 480gtx to review and when.

THey'll be linked to the 480gtx launch in some way, launched just before, or just after so they can say, yeah a 480gtx was 15% faster, until this driver set which gives you 15% across the board...... or something along those lines.

I would have thought they'd keep 10.3 in house only with no beta testing and no leaked beta drivers though so Nvidia wouldn't have a clue that they were going to offer a nice increase in Dirt 2, uniengine and other things.

It would work out nice if news sites all list Nvidia 480gtx reviews, then hours/minutes later put the top news story as AMD launch new drivers that make the 480gtx a utterly pointless card....... infact, I wouldn't be surprised if thats almost exactly what they want to happen. 26th March, late in the day just after everyone links all the 480gtx reviews wouldn't be surprising in the slightest.

Sorry for my ignorance but is the 10.3 "preview" that's been floating around just a previous driver with some upcoming features (bezel management etc)? As I've been using it for a while now, will the actual 10.3 be vastly different?

im just hoping that offical 10.3's finally knock the grey screen issue on its head, as a sufferer of this issue it is massively frustrating.
I love the card, the performance is awesome and the temps are great its just this one issue that frustrates me with ATI

I have the GSOD issue as well. The 10.3 betas certainly improved the experience. 2+ hours of BC2 last night with no crashes...
I have been in touch with ATi who have told me that the release date for the official 10.3s will be the last week in March as per usual, and will fix the GSOD issue. All I can say is - it had better or this card is going back !
I seriously doubt that the timing of the driver release will be in any way connected to the NV beast.

Yeah I got a good 10~15 fps increase in Dirt2 with the 10.3 preview drivers.

Just a question about Dirt 2:
You bought the Asus 5870. Did it come with Dirt 2 in the box? I bought the XFX 5870 and I did not get any other things in the box aside from my 5870.

I really hope the GSOD is fixed. Really gets on my moobs. I thought i may have been the only one with this issue, but feel re-assured there are others out there. Mine manifests itself as crashing any game i play after approx 30 - 60 secs of running. A reboot later and it is stable. Very strange

i flashed my Saphirre to the latest BIOS and that seemed to help, well for a few cold boots anyway.

Heres hoping..........

Never had grey myself, although I get a slightly yellowish washout in TF2 at least once everyday. Lasts for 60 sec then goes back to normal, quiet odd :)

Have you tried disabling powerplay completely, download gpu clock tool from techreport I think it is(google gpu clock tool and find a site called something like tech report).

Reboot, open up gpu clock tool first thing, set a 3d clock and hit set clocks,
it will set the clock and stops powerplay working, only till a reboot, would be interested to see if you get the grayscreen.

I never got it up till installing 10.2, I got it once as I didn't disable powerplay(i normally do for multimonitor and the big cursor issue some people get with powerplay), whenever I remember to set my 3d clocks and not use powerplay, I can play whatever games as much as I want with no gray screen.

anyone know what the 10.3 preview drivers do to bad company 2 with a 5770? i would love just an extra 5-10 fps increase.
