I'm genuinely impressed, wasn't expect it to keep this card so much cooler. Granted the stock gear is pretty awful but I even started thinking that the thermometer was reading wrong when I saw it tip in at almost 115 degrees at the weekend.

I won't even mention how much quieter the PC is now that it's all Zalman inside Next stop - water cooling!

Well worth the investment, I'll even take it to my next card:

It's a Sapphire mate, it had been getting worse lately although the fan was spinning fine and the heatsink was very clean.

I'd occassionally have the PC beep a thermal warning, at which point I'd quit out of whatever I was playing. It definately got worse in the past couple of months so obviously something wasn't quite right.

It's always hovered around the 90 degree mark on full load though. ATI Tool was invaluable for letting me know, even with the fan at 100% it never made a dent in the full load temp.

Got the card for £30 a few months ago, getting a second hand 8800 shortly for around the same and this will transfer onto it, so the money isn't wasted.

Pfft you didn't really think a Scot would waste money did you!
