Hi all

I have just installed my new shiny 2900XT, however when installing the 7.7 drivers

I get the following error msg!

could not load file or assembly "CLI.Implementation" or one of ita dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.

The driver suite still installed the drivers though, but 3D mark 06 crashes on load!

Seems you're not alone. Try using the ATI Uninstall Utility to remove the drivers and CCC, rather than going through Add Remove Programs. This has worked for a few people.

Make sure you have installed net framework 2 and the 3DM06 crash can be sorted with the fix below.

This is a known issue and we have been able to reproduce it in our test lab. The problem lays in an DLL which we use to detect the graphics cards' core and memory speeds. We are working on an update to correct this issue after which all Futuremark benchmarks should run fine with the latest offerings from all IHV's. Until then you can work around this issue by renaming the "Direcpll.dll" file (found in %WINDIR%\system32\Futuremark\MSC\) to something else.

Guys,

I've just gotten one of these and I'm confused? You know the two PCIe power connectors..? Do you need both the 8 Pin and the 6 pin connectors or just the one of them?

Just took this thing out of the box and I dont want to blow it up :D

Cheers for any quick responses

If you have both a six and eight pin then connect them or if you have two six pin connectors use them, if anything it will help stability wise even if you dont overclock.

Yes, you plug both the power cables so they are touching each other.

I had the same problem. Put in ** CD and check the user guide out, thats how I found it out

lol..aye cool.

Nice little bundle for OEM (Bought from this site)

Valve Black Box & Dungeon Seige and all the cables, dongles and what have you!!

Installing VISTA on my rig now..see what this can do when I get up and running!!

Wish me luck ;)

RavenUK, from what I read renaming or deleting the direcpll.dll file fixes the freeze at splash screen problem. Ace is getting a different error so I don't think that's going to work, but I guess it's worth a try though.

However, I do agree with looking at the .net framework 2 or 3. Read that someone else fixed this problem by doing a "repair" of .Net Framework rather than a re-install.

Also, thanks for that link to the 7.8 Beta,s. Going to give them a go.

I am going to try the 7.8 beta then if nnot wiorking try the rename

EDIT these will not install under Vista!
